How to Use FileVault on Mac

Found on Mac OSX 10.3 and later, FileVault is a great tool to make sure all your data is completely safe at all times. FileVault encrypts the files, as in it stores them as a Sparse Disc Image, which is essentially one large file and uses a key derived from the user’s password.

It is always safe to take some extra precautions for your Mac, and FileVault will help you do this simply and easily.

How it works

  • Run the program options by choosing the debug debugging code. This will enable the file shredder to be enabled.
  • When the application is started, a disk image of the entire hard drive is taken.
  • The application then asks for the password associated with the user.
  • Once entered, the application breaks the code in the file into small parts, all the while keeping a strong encryption key to ensure that no unauthorized user breaks the code. When the user enters the code in the application, this key is used to decrypt the file and return the data to its original form.

Continue to run the application, and when FileVault is closed, resume your installation. Once you have installed the application, you will need to create a user to open the program for you. This can be done from the preferences menu. You also have an option to create a bank account for the application.

At this point, you may need to create a backup directory for the application in case you want to restore the application at a later date. It is recommended that you never delete or delete personal files from your computer.

The instructions are provided for a single user only. Adding additional users to the system is not supported. If you would like to set up your instance, you will need to use the Application Assistant.

Simply click the create a new application button and pick an application name. You will then need to configure the preferences and other settings by clicking the customize button. You can go ahead and click the save application button to save the application. You will have to restart the browser for the changes to take effect.

How to remove the app

In case you need to remove the application, you can go ahead and click on the remove button. You will need to remove all the files that are associated with the program, which will stop the application from working correctly.

If you notice any configuration files that are missing, you can go ahead and replace these with the downloaded ones. You can also go to the application folder, locate the original file, and delete the new one. The application shortcut can also be removed.

The FileVault 2 removal is described in detail, so it should not be necessary to go any further. The application alerts and error messages should have already been disabled for safety. If you encounter an error, or the application is not loading, try re-installing the application. You should then rename the application folder, delete the.xml file associated with the application, and delete all its shortcuts on your desktop as well as the startup items.

It’s important to note that any subsequent attempt at re-installation or reinstallation will be without the latest versions of the software. You will need to obtain the latest version when you run the application again.
